Provide first aid

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. It applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Course content includes:

  • Responding to an emergency situation;
  • Applying appropriate first aid procedures;
  • Perform CPR procedures;
  • Communicating details of the incident; and
  • Evaluating the incident and own performance.

The course is delivered in a one day practical session with theory component undertaken prior to the practical by completing the supplied workbook.

Successful completion of this course provides you with a Statement of Attainment for the following units of nationally recognised training:

  • HLTAID001 Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid
