CPC20112 - Certificate II in Construction

Overview
This course provides an occupational outcome with a range of support tasks applicable to a number of construction work sites.  

Jobs may include:

  • Trades assistant
  • Builder's labourer
  • Construction assistant.

Training is delivered 4 days per week over a period of 12 weeks and students will undertake theory and hands on training in a simulated work environment.

Skills Covered
In order to complete this qualification students must successfully achieve a total of 15 units of competency, 10 core units in the table below and 5 elective units of competency.

CPCCCM1015A - Carry out measurements and calculations

CPCCCM2001A - Read and interpret plans and specifications

CPCCCM2005B - Use construction tools and equipment

CPCCCM2006B - Apply basic levelling procedures

CPCCCM2010B - Work safely at heights

CPCCCO2013A - Carry out concreting to simple forms

CPCCOHS2001A - Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

Electives

CPCCCM2002A - Carry out excavation

CPCCCM2007B - Use explosive power tools

CPCCCM2008B - Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding

CPCCCM2009A - Carry out basic demolition

CPCCSF2004A - Place and fix reinforcement materials

Course Admission Requirements / pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for entry into this course however applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake a Basic Skills Assessment.

Qualification
Students who successfully complete all the requirements of this course will be issued with a Record of Results and a Certificate II in Construction (CPC20112).
 
Students who do not complete all the units of competency within this course will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units of competency that have been successfully achieved.

Course Fees

Full fee paying participants (ineligible for WorkReady subsidies) will be required to pay the full course fee of $3,425.
