RII20715 - Certificate II in Civil Construction

This course provides participants with practical civil skills including the use of hand and power tools, operation of small plant and equipment, spreading and compacting materials, controlling traffic, concreting and industry relevant licences such as white card, yellow card and forklift. 

Training is delivered 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday) for a period of 12 weeks, with opportunities for work experience placements that may be available to suitable candidates.

WorkReady Subsidised Training
This course is subsidised by the South Australian Governments' WorkReady initiative for eligible students. Only students who meet the eligibility criteria will qualify for subsidised training. View eligibility criteria, here.
Course Admission Requirements / pre-requisites
Applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake pre-assessment to ensure suitability for the course, which may include drug and alcohol testing. You must be at least 16 years of age and have a command of the English language to enable fluent communication (written and oral). You must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (see PPE requirements).
Employment Outcomes
Certificate courses aim to provide training at the operative level to equip students with selected practical, technical and theoretical skills in construction as well basic skills and an overview into civil construction vocations. Obtaining this trade qualification may enhance your employment opportunities.

In order to complete this qualification students must successfully achieve a total of 16 units of competency, 10 core and 6 elective units (as outlined above); Plus a white card. 
 
Qualification
Students who successfully complete all the requirements of this course will be issued with a Record of Results and a Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20715).
 
Students who do not complete all the units of competency within this course will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units of competency that have been successfully achieved.
 
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to be supplied by participant:
  • Safety boots (steel cap)
  • Safety glasses (non-tinted)
  • Long pants
  • Long-sleeved shirt (for WHS reasons please do not wear excessively loose clothing)
  • High visibility vest
  • Sun protection as required

Course Fees - Full Fee paying students (ineligible for WorkReady Subsidies)
The full course fee is $4,125. A deposit of 20% ($825) is required at enrolment. Direct Debit arrangements are available.
