Overview
The Certificate II in Electrotechnology is a pre-vocational program aimed at preparing students for an electrotechnology apprenticeship.  You will gain practical experience in a hands-on training environment and learn about:

  • electrical theory and wiring
  • occupational health and safety
  • solving problems in electrical circuits
  • identifying and selecting components.

Skills Covered
All the core competencies below must be achieved plus a combination of elective competencies to achieve a total weighting of 140 points.
 
Core Units

UEENEEE101A    Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace

UEENEEE104A    Solve problems in d.c. circuits

UEENEEE141A    Use of routine equipment/plant/technologies in an energy sector environment

UEENEEE148A    Carry out routine work activities in an energy sector environment

UEENEEE179A    Identify and select components, accessories and materials for energy sector work activities

UEENEEK142A    Apply environmentally and sustainable procedures in the energy sector

Course Admission Requirements / pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for entry into this course however applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake a Basic Skills Assessment.

Qualification
Students who successfully complete all the requirements of this course will be issued with a Record of Results and a Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) (UEE22011).
 
Students who do not complete all the units of competency within this course will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units of competency that have been successfully achieved.

WorkReady Jobs First Subsidised Training
This course is subsidised through WorkReady by the Government of South Australia for eligible students.

To be eligible students must be:

  • unemployed or underemployed (less than 17 hours per week)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • 17 years or over
  • Not attending (or enrolled) at school.

Course Fees

Full fee paying participants (ineligible for WorkReady subsidies) will be required to pay the full course fee of $3,200.
