Employers/Industries
Our Case Managers network daily with a base of over 500 employers in the construction, engineering and electrical trades. We are in the enviable position of having employers contacting us looking for workers at all levels with the majority seeking young, work ready workers.
Having worked closely with contractors responsible for the delivery of major projects in each region (e.g. Northern Connector and Darlington Upgrade-Gateway South) we aim to link young people directly to work experience opportunities and employment through these contractors and/or labour hire companies contracted to provide labour to the projects.
The industry speakers in this course will increase relevance and motivation and create opportunities to discuss and offer work experience. Those who participate in any of our pre-vocational courses are always strongly encouraged to take up any suitable work experience placement to gain relevant and practical industry experience.
Activities to generate opportunities for work experience and/or internships include:
- Marketing directly to jobactives and employers via various media through our employer network and industry contacts
- Trainer/Case Manager contact with employers
- AASN guest speakers explaining the opportunities for apprentices in the trades
- Reverse marketing through the provision of information about employer incentives
- Social Media mechanisms.
