TIG Level Two (Intermediate)
MEM05019D - Weld using gas tungsten arc welding process 
This unit of competency covers the preparation, positioning, fixing, and welding techniques associated with general trade level welding using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) equipment including the selection and set up of the equipment appropriate to both the material i.e. on plate and pipe in mild steel and aluminium and the weld to be performed i.e. Fillet and Butt welds. Carrying out the GTAW to prescribed standards, and examining for and correcting defects, in a range of welded fabrications.
Duration
- Option 1 - 4 days/ 8 hours per day (Face to Face) - 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Option 2 - 12 Wednesday nights/ 3 hours per night (Face to Face) - 5:00pm to 8:00pm
Cost
- Option 1 - $800.00 (GST exempt)
- Option 2 - $960.00 (GST exempt)
Participants MUST:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or hold an eligible VISA
- Have the ability to read, write, understand and communicate with basic English; and
- Have the physical ability to perform practical fabrication skills.
NOTE: To attain the accredited MEM05019D unit you will need to have successfully completed (and provide evidence to ATEC) all of the pre-requisites listed in the course flyer.
